2. Marek Hamsik shatters another Napoli record.
Napoli’s captain surpassed Attila Sallustro’s goal record of 107 with his triple against Bologna. Hamsik has now scored 109 goals for the partenopei and sits 6 goals away from the legend himself, Diego Armando Maradona at 115.
Hamsik’s first goal was a type that the Slovakian does not score often. Hamsik converted on a diving header moving away from the net that ended up in the bottom far-post to open the scoring.
The midfielder missed a one-on-one chance in the second half, but made up for it with his second goal to make it 5-1. He slotted the ball away into the top-right corner of the net. Cool, calm and collected to pass Sallustro with his 108th goal.
Hamsik wrapped up his incredible scoring display with a goal from outside of Bologna’s box. The shot sailed into the top-right corner past Antonio Mirante to make it 6-1 and 109 goals.
The display was man-of-the-match worthy en route to further sealing Hamsik’s legendary status with Napoli.
