Ingnazio Abate spoke to Milan Channel about the upcoming match with Torino this weekend.
The Milan defender looked back on his injury after a training session at Milanello earlier today saying, “I had great desire against Sassuolo, even if fitness wise I wasn’t in top-shape. I need to regain my match fitness, but they were 16 important minutes for me, even if unfortunately it was in a match in which we didn’t play very well.”
Looking forward to Torino, Abate said, “I don’t think there are any easy matches in Serie A and Ventura’s teams are always well organised. Tactically he’s a very good coach. His teams try and play from the back, without ever giving the ball away. Torino have had a set playing style for many years and we will have to go there trying to impose our game” Abate also emphasized that his side will have to play the upcoming match with character, as he felt it was missing during last weeks match up against Sassuolo.
Abate also offered a statement on the arrival of new teammate, Alessio Cerci, saying he is doing well so far at Milan. “He’s lacking in match fitness, but the important thing is to be focused and have the desire to show that he’s a top player” said Abate.
