The Blues billionaire owner was spotted at Chelsea’s training facility this afternoon, and the former Italian National Team coach Antonio Conte spoke to the media following this afternoons training session.
Conte had this to say with regards to the upcoming transfer market, via calciomercato.it:
“I’m lucky because Abramovich is a big football fan and it’s a pleasure to talk with him. The market? We have to think about the present because it is more important. I do not see an opportunity in January to spend money or to change.”
These are very interesting comments from the Chelsea boss as his club has been linked with many high profile names comes January. The Blues have been linked with multiple star Serie A defenders including Juventus’ Leonardo Bonucci and Roma’s Kostas Manolas in hopes of improving their back line which has been highly criticized.
Conte’s Chelsea side currently sits in 10th place in the Premier League table, 8 points behind league leaders Manchester City. They now head to Premier League new boys Hull City Saturday afternoon, a week after their crushing 3-0 defeat to Arsenal.
