Juventus boss unhappy with another failed opportunity to extend their lead over Roma
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri spoke to Sky Sport in the post match:
“We didn’t immerse ourselves in this match, we knew that playing here wasn’t easy, first of all because they’re in form and attack the opponent well. The synthetic turf is much faster and if you don’t start with same pace the match becomes hard. We make mistakes in the first 15 minutes allowing Cesena three scoring chances. There are no easy games in this league, in the second half they came down and we were administering the goal advantage instead of trying to score more”.
Allegri bemoans a missed opportunity: “It was an ugly game that we recuperated in the best way possible but that we’ve failed to win. It’s too bad because it could have been an important step toward our scudetto objective, instead our distance from Roma remains unchanged. This draw has grounded us”.
Vidal was heavily criticized by some of Juve’s fans, but Allegri protects him: “Vidal’s penalty shot miss has nothing to do with his performance, which was very good especially in the first half. From a physcological point of view it surely would have been better if he had scored the penalty, unfortunately in football penalties are missed from time to time”.
One last word on Llorente and Morata’s strike force, and on Pogba: “They did well, it was the first time they played together. In a game like this one I needed their characteristics. Pogba is one of the world’s greatest midfielders but let’s remember that he’s only 21″.
