Ahead of this weekend’s match against Atalanta, Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri spoke about the squad and the new developments in Serie A.
“Marchisio is ready to play, Sturaro has an injury on his foot that prevents him from putting on his boots, so it’s impossible to bring him to Bergamo. Everyone else is fit, and is available for the match.” Allegri then goes on to discuss players that are doubtful for the match against Atalanta. “Chiellini? He’s making progress and we’ll assess if he’s fit during the week. It’s unlikely that he plays against Sassuolo.
When asked about Simone Zaza and the current depth chart when it comes to forwards Allegri commented saying that it’s not an obstacle course: “The Juventus forwards have all done well, all four of them, and all of them will give us a hand by scoring goals until the end of the season.”
Allegri also commented on Roma’s brilliant form as of late: “Our win against Roma was crucial, it allows us to stay five points ahead of them, and still with a game in hand. It doesn’t surprise me, they have an excellent squad, and they are in a place where they can do well. I think if they can beat Napoli they will reach 86 points which is just off the Scudetto average of 87.”
When asked about Sarri’s sheets of paper that he took with him to the press conference: “Paper? I don’t know anything about that because I didn’t go to school, writing is hard for me, all I know is that my team played for 120 minutes and ran about 150-160 kilometers. Juve is playing well right now, as are Roma and Napoli. We need to think about ourselves, if we win tomorrow we’ll be 3 points ahead of Napoli, and still have a game in hand, so that will be another step forward.”
