Atletico Madrid have once again been rumoured to be reigniting their interest from the summer of 2017 in signing Torino forward and captain, Andrea Belotti.
Ill Gallo had been rumoured in the summer to be Diego Simeone’s replacement for Antoine Griezmann after Alexandre Lacazette had moved to Arsenal, but with Griezmann remaining at Atleti and not moving to Manchester United, Madrid held off their search for another striker until they resigned Diego Costa from Chelsea.
Now, Gianluca Di Marzio is claiming that any deal for Belotti will come in the summer but only if Griezmann decides to depart the Wanda Metropolitan.
The Torino captain hasn’t been up to the standards that he set himself last season, scoring only seven goals in 18 appearances in Domestic competitions so far, but a knee injury has forced him to miss six Serie A games and the Coppa Italia quarter final defeat to arch rivals Juventus.
This transfer does depend on where Griezmann goes in the summer of 2018 but with many expecting him to finally part ways with Madrid, Belotti could be his replacement alongside Kevin Gamiero and Diego Costa, seeing as Diego Someone has already shown a big interest in Ill Gallo.
