Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, is set to meet with Mario Balotelli’s agent in Brazil to discuss a move to the London side.
Arsenal have been in the market for another striker to combine with Olivier Giroud this summer and the Italian striker has been linked previously with the club in the early stages of the transfer market.
According to The Daily Star, Wenger will make an approach in person to Balotelli’s agent, Mino Raiola, to secure the Milan striker. Incoming Milan manager, Filippo Inzaghi, has reportedly given his blessing for the selling of Balotelli.
Arsenal’s bid for Balotelli is expected to be £25 million (€31.2 million).
The 24-year-old’s agent is seeking £150,000 (€188,000) per week in wages in his return to the Premier League.
The Lombardy side have been linked with numerous players to possibly replace Balotelli including Bayern Munich’s Mario Mandzukic, Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko and Verona’s Juan Manuel Iturbe.
The former Manchester City striker’s previous three-year stint in the Premier League led to a total of 30 goals in 80 appearances in all competitions before he moved back to Milan in the winter market in 2013.
In the 2013/2014 season Balotelli appeared in 54 games for the Rossoneri and scored 30 goals in all competitions.
