Pierluigi Gollini’s first full season in Serie A saw a lot of action, but unfortunately was relegated and finished in last place.

According to the Daily Mail, the relegated English side are set to make a €5 million bid to the relegated Italian side for Gollini.

Multiple sources in Italy say the 21-year old keeper was courted by new coach Roberto Di Matteo for a plethora of reasons. One of them being because Gollini spent two years with the Manchester United squad.

Gollini has agreed to a provisional 4-year contract but the remaining details have to be worked out. Aston Villa are plotting a quick return to the top flight and are willing to give Di Matteo the tools he needs to make it happen.

Villa believe US international Brad Guzan will leave the club and not remain in the Championship.
