Lorenzo Pellegrini has high profile suitors both in Italy and abroad, which could force Roma’s hand in the summer.
Reports in January indicated Juventus were considering triggering Pellegrini’s release clause. Now, Atletico Madrid are thinking the same thing.
According to reports out of Spain, Diego Simeone’s side have Pellegrini on their wishlist but the midfielder only has a clause of €25 million.
Roma even at €25 million would make a large profit on the ex-Sassuolo midfielder but, Roma’s Sporting Director Monchi does not want a repeat of the Pjanic situation where they received under his value due to the release clause.
Gazzetta dello Sport’s Gazzamercato reports Monchi will meet with Pellegrini’s representatives to talk about extending his contract and raising his release clause much higher.
