Real Madrid right back Alvaro Arbeloa could be on his way to Napoli this January.
According to Fichajes.net and Tuttonapoli.net, Napoli manager Rafael Benitez has made a bid for the Spaniard, who he worked with at Liverpool.
31-year-old Arbeloa has fallen down the pecking order at the Bernabeu, now playing second fiddle to Dani Carvajal.
An unimpressed Arbeloa could now put pressure on the powers that be at Real, and force them to accept the offer.
Benitez brought the defender to Liverpool in 2007, and since becoming Napoli manager has increasingly become linked with the player.
Arbeloa, who has been capped 56 times by his country, is the third name in the past few days to be linked with Partenopei as Marseille’s Andre Ayew and Manchester City’s James Milner have both appeared in the rumour mill.
