Italy’s newest forward Federico Bernardeschi spoke to the press at Coverciano
The Fiorentina attacker spoke to the press for the first time as a member of the senior Azzurri outfit and commented on his journey and how he has been received by his teammates.
“I’ve come a long way and I’m happy and proud to be here today I’ve been welcomed into a great group of players and I’ll have to try and do my best in the knowledge that my versatility is an advantage.”
Acknowledging the work of his club team, Bernardeschi commented “you can’t achieve anything on your own, my presence here is a credit to the whole squad [Fiorentina]”.
Earlier, Buffon had praised Bernardeschi, who is a native of the same province as the Captain, calling him one of Italy’s brightest upcoming talents.
“It’s wonderful that a legend like Gigi has said certain things about me. With time, I’m hoping to show that he was right.”
In response to today’s attack in Brussels, Federico shared a somber comment.
“They’re things that hurt everybody, everyone feels affected.”.
