Bologna FC has been for sale for over a year now and it looks like a a group of investors is close to purchasing the team.
According to Corriere di Bologna, New York based lawyer Joe Tacopina is leading a group of five investors looking to purchase Serie B side Bologna FC.
Among the group of investors rumoured is Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and Montreal Impact owner Joey Saputo.
The reported sale price is 18.2 million euros, with an expected closing date of October 8th.
The Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that the interest from the Saputo family makes sense as a relationship between the clubs has been developed the past two years. Marco Di Vaio, Daniele Paponi, and Andrea Pisanu have played for the Impact. The two clubs also played Bologna in a friendly at Dall’Ara Stadium in 2012.
