Giacomo Bonaventura scored Milan’s lone goal from a direct free kick in the 48th minute to gift his side a much needed 1-0 win against Pescara.
The Milan play-maker spoke to Premium Sports following the match. He discussed his side’s performance and dedicated his goal to those suffering from the recent earthquake tragedy nearby Rome.
Bonventura on Milan’s performance:
“My goal was to gain all three points, I’m happy. We put in a good performance. The important thing was to win. Pescara played well, we had little fear, but it was essential to bring home three points while not conceding a goal. I am happy for the goal but above all the victory, we will enjoy being in third place.”
Bonventura dedicates his goal to earthquake victims:
“As soon as the referee signaled a foul I thought I could score. I dedicate this goal to the people who are suffering for the last catastrophe of the earthquake. I wanted to give my thoughts to these people but we will be thinking of them as a team because they need us.”
Jack was easily Milan’s man of the match and slid home a beautifully crafted free kick under the Pescara wall to move the club into third place in the Serie A table.
