Italy international Leonardo Bonucci spoke to the media after his side’s triumph over Borussia Dortmund in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
In his post-match interview with Sky Sport, Bonucci was visibly satisfied with Juventus’ performance and issued a rallying cry to his teammates for the future. The former Bari man told reporters,:
“We knew we had to come here being well aware of our strengths and without fear of Borussia Dortmund. We had the priceless but deserved advantage of going into this game with a lead. As a result of this, we were able to hit them on the counter attack. We knew there would be spaces to exploit between their two center backs. Perhaps we deserved another goal. Buffon only had to make one save from outside the box. This demonstrates Juventus’ superiority and the intelligence in which we approached this game with.”
On the bianconeri’s objectives for the rest of the season, the Juventus defender said,:
“As of right now nothing is set in stone. There are still some games left in the league and the best is yet to come in the Champions League. We will play the quarter finals without fearing our opposition because whoever we get at the draw will be a good team.”
