Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci recently spoke about his side’s direct Scudetto rivals as well as their Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Bari man said,:
“The league will be an open contest until the very end. If I had to give one name today for our Scudetto rivals, for the way they play and what they did in the first half of the season, I’d have to say Napoli. They also have an added threat called Higuain.”
On his side’s recent run of nine consecutive wins and emergence as Scudetto contenders, Bonucci said,:
“In October, people said that Juventus were out of the Scudetto discussion and today this is not the case. Five teams are currently in the race for the title. We want to enter the history books of this club by winning five league titles in a row.”
Bonucci concluded the interview by talking about Bayern Munich, Juventus’ opponents in the round of sixteen of the Champions League. The Italy international said,:
“I don’t think they were celebrating when our name came out in the draw. We have to be aware of our strength and know that we are capable of playing our best without fear.”
