Sources report that a deal has been struck between the parties and Manolo Gabbiadini is heading to Southampton.
SportItalia reported just moments ago the Saints and the Partenopei agreed in principle for the sale of Gabbiadini to Southampton.
The English side will pay €17 million up front with an added €3 million in bonuses. The striker will earn around €5.2 million gross per year on a four year deal.
Gabbiadini started off playing second fiddle to Arek Milik, but the Polish’s injury sidelined him for the better part of the season so far. The Italian was unable to capitalize on the opportunity and eventually was replaced by Dries Mertens, who has been on fire since the move to a full time starting role.
This season, Gabbiadini has played in 19 matches, finding the back of the net only five times in all competitions.
The player will undergo the medical visits tomorrow on Tuesday morning.
