Napoli beat Udinese 2-1 at Udine on Saturday evening thanks to two goals from Lorenzo Insigne.
Lorenzo Insigne passed the captain’s armband to Jose Callejon when he was subbed off the field near the end of the match.
After the victory, Callejon spoke to Sky Sport who asked if the win was revenge for last year. Napoli lost to Udinese last season 3-1 at Udine, which contributed to the Partenopei’s falling behind Juventus in the Scudetto race.
“When we go away we always want to win; it’s true that least year the game was difficult for us. Today, we were convinced that we could win. The whole team did a good job, these are three important points for us. Now, we must all give a hand [to get more points].”
The Spanish winger commented on Lorenzo Insigne, who scored the two goals for Napoli.
“Lorenzo wasn’t scoring [in the previous games], but he was was playing very well and will have more confidence for the next games.”
Callejon made comments on Marek Hamsik and the importance of the whole team’s unity.
“Hamsik wears the armband because he is the captain, but the whole group should be united and have one goal.”
Like Sarri, Callejon faced the question about the league standings.
“We collect our points first, then we’ll see what the other teams do.”
Napoli play Dynamo Kyiv in a crucial UEFA Champions League group stage match on Wednesday. The Partenopei then play Sassuolo on Monday, November 28 in their next Serie A match.
