After the triumph over Juventus, the Inter midfielder highlights the neroazzurri‘s attitude on the field today and the support received from club brass
“We played a perfect match – this is the type of game to play against Juventus”, Inter’s attacking midfielder Antonio Candreva told Sky Sport after today’s 2-1 triumph which surprised Juventus.
“This win can improve our self-confidence – we’ll take this as a starting point. We took the wrong approach with smaller sides, so we must think about Wednesday’s match already”, said Candreva, referring to Inter’s upcoming away game at Empoli.
“We mustn’t set ourselves any limits, we must try to win them all, and at the end of the season see how far we’ve gotten. The match against Be’er Sheva is what happens when you take the wrong mental approach. Today’s win must be a starting point, we must always pay as much attention to detail as we did today, be humble, and determined”, Candreva continued.
When asked about De Boer’s impact as a coach, Candreva stated “Results are lagging but we keep working – we’re making ourselves available to him – it’s hard because he comes form another league, and it’s hard for him. We must take it one game at a time, otherwise today’s win is useless”.
One last word on Inter’s brass: “Our club presidents spoke to us before the match: they’re close to us even when they’re far away”, concluded Candreva.
