Candreva spoke to the microphones of Premium Sport after assisting in Inter’s 1-0 win over Palermo on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
“We knew it would be a difficult match, especially after playing 120 minutes a few days ago. We all made the effort as one and got the job done. It was a good performance. Our goal came in the second half which seems to be a recurring event this season,” began the Italian winger who assisted Joao Mario for Inter’s winner Sunday afternoon.
When asked about how the second half of Inter’s season has fared, the Italy international replied, “We’re a united group otherwise we wouldn’t have made such a positive turnaround this season. We’re a good team and we’ve got to continue this way. We are our own toughest opponent and must only seek how we can become better. The first half of the season was a bit of a mess. We lost many points and now we have to have to think about winning every single match to regain some ground.”
Candreva concluded, “We’re a new team, we have a different mentality and a newfound enthusiasm. We must continue like this because we’ve done absolutely nothing just yet.”
Inter currently sit in 5th place, just one point below Lazio in 4th and two points above AC Milan in 6th who have one game in hand.
