Juventus attacker Carlos Tevez spoke to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, and he firmly believes that he won’t be traveling to Brazil this summer as a part of the Argentinian squad for the World Cup. In fact, he’s even said that he and his family will be heading to Walt Disney World.
“I don’t think I’ll be watching La Seleccion on television. I’ve already bought the tickets to bring my wife and kids to Disney World, it’s a trip I’ve promised them for awhile”, he said.
“First, I want to win with Juve, possibly the Scudetto and then the Europa League, then go on vacation (laughs)”.
Are you disappointed to not be included in the squad?
“No but I was delighted to receive the support of so many people. It’s logical, and for me it’s not an obsession”
“Many people ask me why I will not play in the World Cup, but I don’t need to give an answer. If I did I would fail to respect the coach (Sabella)..Between us, there isn’t any problems”
“Sabella is convinced on his project, he already has his group. It seems fair that they win or lose with the players he selects”.
Gazzetta’s Adriano Seu then asked Tevez about his relationship with Lionel Messi and the possible resentment between the two.
“I swear, I have no idea who keeps putting these absurd rumors in circulation. The truth is, I have a splendid relationship with Messi. We have shared many training sessions, retreats, games and there has never been a moment of discord. He’s an extraordinary person and I hope that he does great this World Cup, because he’s a wonderful player”.
“I’ve had the fortune to get to know and play together with him and Ronaldo. They are the best in the world”, He concluded.
