Striker Antonio Cassano has asked Sampdoria to terminate his contract.
The relationship between Cassano and Sampdoria has been somewhat rocky, and it seems it may come to an end.
According to Sky Sports, the former Italian international has officially placed a request to terminate his contract. Cassano had been keen to continue playing for the club, but found he was being pushed out.
It comes down to whether Sampdoria grant his release, with President Massimo Ferrero meeting with lawyers to discuss the matter.
Bari have offered the striker a possible return but it is unlikely that Cassano will drop to Serie B.
