Catania boss Gigi De Canio has a tall order this weekend: come away with a positive result at Roma: “A positive result in Rome would boost our confidence and would be an important step in our relegation battle”.
“Roma are a solid side, but the ball is round: individual matches are often the result of single episodes”, he said about the giallorossi. “Will Gervinho be man-marked? No. We will try, however, to curtail Roma’s quality. If it doesn’t work out it will be due to Roma’s merit to elude our plan”.
Then he turned to some of Catania’s internal problems: “Maxi Lopez is a Catania player right now. He has been preparing the game separately the last few days due to a muscular issue, thus he wasn’t called up for this match. With respect to Bergessio, I said those kind words because I saw a man who has the right mental approach and an example to follow”, he concluded.
Catania currently sit at the bottom of the Serie A table, with 2 wins, 4 ties, and 10 losses.
