Italian winger Alessio Cerci spoke to RAI following the 1-0 loss against Spain at the Estadio Vincente Calderon in Madrid. The Torino attacker hit the post early on and caused a host problems for the Spanish defense.
Cerci said: “The game? An important test for me, let’s say it went pretty well and I’m happy for the words from the Mister [Prandelli], it’s a shame for the final score. They had a lot of possession and they should have taken advantage of us on the many counter-attacks that we conceded, occasionally we succeeded [In defending]. The approach to the game was right positive, and then against a team of champions we had made a good performance.”
“Personally, I can give a lot more, especially in games like these where the aim is on the counterattack”
“The World Cup? Let’s hope so, fingers crossed. 12 games to go and and the coach will look at it all”
