The Blues’ fiery Italian manager is looking to strengthen his midfield for a title run.

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea is finally getting it together. With an excellent run of form the Blues are gelling on the pitch. Players have bought into Conte’s hard, disciplined style and it is paying dividends. Chelsea is point behind Liverpool for first in the table currently, a far cry from their embarrassing mid-table finish last season.

Chelsea’s goals were to make the Champions League but now find themselves in a very good position to win the title. Antonio Conte wants to make the side more competitive. According to the Daily Mail, Conte will accomplish this by adding players of a higher technical level in midfield. He would need a midfielder who could play either the right or left side of his 3-4-3 formation. Marcelo Brozovic of Inter and Javier Pastore of PSG are reportedly his targets.

Brozovic although highly touted, has only recently gotten playing time in the Inter lineup after a frosty relationship with the club’s coaching staff.

A move away from the San Siro would certainly jump start his career. Pastore on the other hand has been playing at PSG for over four years, used sparingly.

The adaptable Argentinian midfielder will want more playing time and with PSG sitting third in the table this is the perfect opportunity for a move. It’s expected that both can be available: Brozovic for 30 million Euros, Pastore 40 million respectively. The ball is in Roman Abramovic’s court to make the moves for his gaffer.
