The Blues are ready to pounce on Lazio’s Lucas Biglia should the midfielder not renew his contract.
Biglia’s agent Enzo Montepaone landed in Rome on Monday morning to discuss some business with the Biancoceleste, according to Il Messaggero.
On the top of the list is meeting about Biglia’s contract which expires in about a year. As of now, there are disagreements between the parties. Biglia, who’s now 30 years old is angling for a move to a bigger club.
Chelsea have been interested in the midfielder as well as other Lazio players like Felipe Anderson and Stefan de Vrij. But Biglia is in fact ready to head to the negotiating table, but staying won’t come cheap for Lazio.
The Argentina international is requesting €3 million net per year. A request that clashes with president Claudio Lotito who’s only ready to offer €2.5 million plus bonuses.
Lazio aren’t putting up the ‘open for business’ sign yet with their top players. There are meetings scheduled to discuss the renewals with Keita Balde and Stefan de Vrij.
