It is beginning to look increasingly difficult for Chelsea to nab away their former star back to Stamford bridge.
Another English club looking to bring back a former youth player looks to be having less luck than Manchester United did with Paul Pogba. Lukaku is the top of Chelsea’s striker wish list but he is proving difficult to attain.
The Star claims that the reason for this is Everton’s valuation of the Belgian international which stands at £75 million and refuse to buckle under Chelsea’s pressure, and as a result claim they are now targeting Inter star and captain Mauro Icardi.
Current boss Antonio Conte is well aware of the strikers capabilities having coach Juventus while at Sampdoria and then Inter. It is reported that Conte’s ” a big fan” who would cost £50m. Icardi has been linked with various moves over the summer including to Napoli and Chelsea rivals Arsenal.
The Londoners could use Oscar as a makeweight in order to convince Inter to part ways with enigmatic captain. Furthermore The Star claims that if this plan fails, then Chelsea will turn their attentions to Gabriel Barbosa.
