AC Milan set to challenge Roma in their bid to sign Cesc Fabregas.
A poor start to his season saw the Spanish International lose his place in Antonio Conte’s starting eleven ever since the switch to three at the back. According to La Stampa, Milan would be ready to challenge Roma for the Chelsea midfielder’s services during the January transfer window.
However, Fabregas has recently played his way back into the former Italy Coach’s plans having featured in the Stamford Bridge club’s last six games. Having starting four of those games, Fabregas has contributed a goal and four assists during that period. The former Barcelona and Arsenal playmaker has been in fine form, helping his side to a Premier League record equaling 13 consecutive wins.
Both Milan and Roma will no doubt be monitoring Fabregas’ situation closely but unless a dip in form occurs over January it remains unlikely that Conte will want to sell Fabregas during this transfer window.
