The news of Milan’s sale is music to Montella’s ears as the club could open up the checkbook this month.
If there’s any club in Italy who desperately needs a change in direction and to reinforce the roster; it’s Milan. The club has brought in only Gianluca Lapadula and Gustavo Gomez this summer but more arrivals could be on the way.
According to Sky Sports, there are several names on the list that match Montella’s profile. Jose Sosa and Juan Cuadrado remain top tier targets for the Rossoneri. However, bringing both players in is impossible at the moment because both the players are non-EU. Gustavo Gomez’s arrival already filled one of the two allocated spots for non-EU players.
However, there’s also Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj, who’s looking to leave the club this month. After a failed loan spell at Dortmund, and less than abundant space at United, the young Belgian ideally would want to move to a club where he could play 38 games a year.
Despite the opportunity to sign Januzaj for significantly less, Milan ideally would like to bring in Cuadrado who has several years of Serie A experience under his belt.
