Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini spoke to the media and expressed his delight following his side’s 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.
Chiellini, who was nothing short of superb in the return leg against Dortmund, spoke to reporters about his team’s impressive performance that secured their progression to the next round of the Champions League. In his post-match interview with Sky Sport, the veteran defender said,:
“I think that we must proceed with caution. We must be happy with the win, gain awareness of our strength and enthusiasm from the victory. This win should not be seen as a shock and we hope to do better. When we started to struggle, we did good to overcome this. We managed to play good football in addition to defending well. We conceded two shots on goal over two legs against a team like Borussia Dortmund.”
On Carlos Tevez’ run of form and inspiring display, Chiellini told reporters,:
“He has always been our difference maker. Tonight, the team helped him be decisive. He always needs a team behind him for support. It’s been a year and a half that Carlos has been making a difference for us. In the quarter finals, I would want to avoid Bayern Munich. It’s clear that there are three teams that are better than the rest but we’ll see what the draw has in store for us.”
