Chievo have completed a very low-cost move to strengthen their backline. As reported by Corriere dello Sport, 32-year old center-back Nicolas Spolli terminated his contract with Carpi a few days ago and signed with Chievo on a free transfer. Chievo confirmed his arrival via an announcement on their official website:

” A.C. Chievo Verona announces the signing of Nicolas Spolli. The Argentinian defender, born in Rosario on February 20th, 1983, will wear the number 2 jersey.”

Spolli, who also had stints at Roma and Catania in his career, rarely took the pitch this season. He appeared a combined total of five times for Carpi in both Serie A and the Coppa Italia
