The Flying Donkeys are off to one of their best ever starts in Serie A.
In a game that could’ve gone the other way, Chievo Verona march out of the Stadio Adriatico in Pescara with all three points and a cleansheet in hand.
Massimo Oddo’s side featured several young players and were on the prowl for the first 80 minutes of the game. For much of the match, it seemed Pescara were only a step away from scoring the opener, however it never came.
Defensive miscues for Pescara allowed Riccardo Meggiorini and Roberto Inglese to give Chievo Verona a 2-0 win in Abruzzo.
Rolando Maran’s side were strong and featured several veterans of Italy’s top flight. Players like Dainelli, Sorrentino, Radovanovic, Hetemaj and Birsa all have several years of experience playing in Serie A and that proved to be the difference maker today.
For Pescara, a side that has few experienced players and primarily a core made up of youngsters, it may be time to head back to the drawing board. Their lone win this season has came from a penalty against Sassuolo where they featured Antonino Ragusa in their side, who had not been properly registered.
Chievo Verona continue to fly near the top of the table, while for Pescara, pending results, could find themselves in the bottom three.
