Juventus boss Antonio Conte and forward Fernando Llorente presented the upcoming Champions League clash against F.C. København.
Conte stated: “Tomorrow’s game is fundamental to our campaign. We’re interested solely in victory. It’s the only thing that matters”.
“I’m not concerned about a supporters’ strike. I have always remarked that the fans are our extra weapon. I can’t imagine a game without their support, and I think it’s unlikely that they will withdraw it at such a key and delicate moment” Conte remarked about the possible supporters’ strike as a response to the club’s failure to appeal the suspension of the supporter sections following Juventus-Napoli.
As far as Juventus’ condition is concerned: “We’ve played at our best all season, except perhaps for the 15-minute blackout versus Fiorentina. As far as the condition of some of our players returning from injury, Lichtsteiner is still out and Barzagli still hasn’t totally recouped”.
Asked about the scoring couple Tevez-Llorente, Conte said “Tevez’s integration into the squad surprised us positively. Lest we forget those who are lurking behind them, that is, Vucinic, Giovinco and Quagliarella”.
“With respect to Fernando, he has done very well. Although he arrived as a World and European champion he had the humility to work hard and start from zero. He’s growing under all aspects and can give more. He’s showing us the qualities that led us to gamble on him, and I’m sure he can improve still”.
Llorente, on the other hand remarked “I improve with each game that I play, and I want to continue to get better. I agree with il mister that I can continue to develop and give to the team much more”.
On his chances to make the World Cup squad that will defend the title in Brazil next summer: “The World Cup is months away, and it’s inopportune to speak of it now. My priority is to do well here, which could improve my chances to be in Brazil”.
Good luck to the bianconeri tomorrow!
