Coppa Italia, Juventus Crush Avellino

It was all easy-peasy at the Juventus Stadium for the home boys versus Serie B revelation side Avellino.

Juventus boss Antonio Conte put in place a rotation side for this occasion, with the likes Storari in goal, Motta and De Ceglie on the flanks, and Asamoah proposed in a central midfield role once again.

The bianconeri‘s game got off to a great start on six minuts with Quagliarella recouping a ball in midfield and offering it to Giovinco who strikes it well from the edge of the box, placing a postage stamp in the top right corner of irpino goalie Di Masi. Juventus 1, Avellino 0.

Juventus back-up players want to impress Conte, so they keep the tempo up and put pressure on Avellino.  Juve fans would have to wait another 7 minutes to celebrate as Martin Caceres slides in to put a Giovinco free kick beyond Di Masi. Juventus 2, Avellino 0.

The case was closed before the half-hour mark with Giovinco offering another assist, this time returning the favour to Quagliarella who turns the pint-sized forward’s cross into the back of the net with a header. Juventus 3, Avellino 0.

The second half was a little more than a practice: Conte sends the youth team’s Buoy onto the field and, most importantly, Simone Pepe, whose return Juventus fans were very happy about.

The Avellino fans who packed the supporters section of the Juventus Stadium did not go home happy, but their support was exemplar.  Juventus fans showed their appreciation by chanting “You will return to Serie A” to them.
