Vice-commissioner of the FIGC, Alessandro Costacurta, has confirmed that there are three candidates to be the next Italy Manager.
Milan legend Alessandro Costacurta has revealed that the next Italy boss will be one of Antonio Conte, Roberto Mancini and Luigi Di Biagio.
Costacurta made the announcement earlier yesterday at Italy’s Coverciano Camp, but his revelation made it clear that Nantes Manager, Claudio Ranieri, is not being considered for the job despite speculation.
Costacurta announced that the new CT would be revealed in June and provided some information.
“We plan to appoint the new CT by June. Conte, Mancini or Di Biagio? These are the names, it won’t be anyone else.”
The former Rossoneri defender also cleared up whether or not he favoured Conte over the other candidates.
“Conte? I never said I preferred Conte. I only said that having already worked with the national team, he has the right characteristics. Given we don’t have any outstanding talents at the moment, we need a very good Coach, and the names I’ve mentioned are good coaches.”
