Inter started off their Europa League campaign with a shocking 2-0 loss at home to Hapoel Be’er Sheva. After the match, neroazzuro defender, Danilo D’Ambrosio, spoke to Sky in a post match interview.
D’Ambrosio started off by talking about the match that just took place:
“All losses hurt, but to lose in front of our fans because after a year’s absence from Europe, we wanted to start off on the right foot. When you win, the collective confidence and that (confidence) of a single player lacks little. The results give confidence, give the smile and we are missing that.”
The Italian defender on the upcoming Juventus match:
“A game of self. Of course after the success against Pescara, another win would have given us morale, but we obviously like to complicate things.”
The media then asked D’Ambrosio if Inter is Mauro Icardi–dependent and the player said, “A concept that should not pass.”
Once again the defender was asked about Icardi, this time his physical condition. D’Ambrosio responded, “It could be that he lacks some, but that is not what makes us lose.”
Inter will play away to Sparta Prague in their next Europa League match.
