Inter manager Frank De Boer touched upon his side’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Chievo and maintains they will improve.
In his post-match interview with Premium Sport, the Dutchman told reporters:
“We are very disappointed with the result, we have a lot of work to do. We are confident that we will get better from a physical and technical standpoint. We’ll look to do better next week.”
When asked about his formation and Candreva’s presence from the get-go, De Boer said:
“I chose this formation because we’re not at our best. Every player and not only Candreva is evaluated. We played with three at the back due to our physical condition and the fact we played Chievo. We conceded a goal at the most difficult time. We lost because we’re not at our best physically. When you concede this type of goal, it’s hard but that’s football.”
De Boer kept repeating that his side were lacking from a physical standpoint. A journalist in the room then asked him if he was satisfied with Inter’s play from a technical point of view. The former Ajax manager said:
“I think that both our physical and technical game was lacking. Our physical condition dictated that we’d play a back three. We’ve only had one friendly. I haven’t had time to improve these aspects yet.”
