Frank De Boer has called up 24 Nerazzurri for Inter’s match tomorrow night at the “Castellani” Stadiu against Empoli.
Goalkeepers: 1 Handanovic, 30 Carrizo, 46 Berni.
Defenders: 13 Ranocchia, 15 Ansaldi, 21 Santon, 24 Murillo, 25 Miranda, 33 D’Ambrosio, 55 Nagatomo, 94 Yao, 95 Miangue.
Midfielders: 5 Melo, 6 Joao Mario, 7 Kondogbia, 17 Medel, 27 Gnoukouri.
Forwards: 8 Palacio, 9 Icardi, 10 Jovetic, 23 Eder, 44 Perisic, 87 Candreva, 96 Barbosa.
Marcelo Brozovic has not been called up to the Inter squad for the second consecutive match when he “disrespected the club”, as De Boer said, after being substituted during Inter’s 0-2 loss at home to Hapoel Be’er Sheva in Inter’s first Europa League group stage match. The Croat was not called up against Juve and now away to Empoli.
Cristian Ansaldi, the 30-year-old Argentine fullback, could play his first official game as an Inter player tomorrow as this is his first official call-up since recovering from a knee injury he picked up when he signed for the club in the summer. With D’Ambrosio looking like the weakest link in the Inter defense these past few weeks, this could be the prime opportunity for Ansaldi to solidify a fullback spot in De Boer’s starting squad.
Brazilian forward Gabriel Barbosa, or “Gabigol,” receives his first call-up as well against Empoli. Arguably Inter’s most anticipated signing of the summer window, the 20-year-old could see himself debut for the club tomorrow night.
