Catania boss Gigi De Canio spoke ahead of the Etnei‘s visit in Marassi against the blucerchiati on Sunday.
“We’ve prepared the match well and are ready. I would like to see my lads minimize their errors and I would like them to play with the same intensity as they did against AC Milan” he told Itasportpress.it.
On his adversaries: “I expect Sampdoria to be in good mental shape. They are a young, fresh team whose best quality is their physical exuberance. Samp comes from good results and has found the enthusiasm it had lost at the beginning of the season. That’s the difference between the sides, but it’s an evenly-matched game”.
“We’re not in optimal physical condition, and are suffering from some injuries. Rolin is out for a fever and Frison is available but I haven’t finalized the starting line up”, he remarked when asked about his team’s conditions.
De Canio also addressed the rossoazzurri fans situation: “We respect our fans, in fact, we’ve even opened the doors of our practice facility to them although we were conscious of their intent to express their dissidence. We know what we have to do and don’t need external motivation to do it. We will give our best to stave off relegation”.
