The supercharged “Derby D’Italia” between Juventus and Internazionale, will take place on Saturday afternoon in Italy’s largest stadium. The San Siro is one of the most intimidating and historic footballing cathedrals in the world and, tomorrow’s game will add to the already prestigious record books.
Juventus will take the train towards Milan with a slightly depleted squad as Claudio Marchisio, Simone Pepe, Martin Caceras and backup keeper Rubinho are out with injuries. Pepe’s return to the Bianconeri has been even further delayed as he was diagnosed with a muscular tear in his quadriceps. Juventus Primavera goalkeeper Leonardo Citti has taken the place of the Brazilian stopper and will earn his first senior call-up in his career.
Mirko Vucinic has been recovered following an injury to his knee during the international break in a game against Poland. However, the Old Lady attacker is not expected to start. A plethora of names have been listed as his potential replacement. Giovinco is the favorite to start in his place and will offer an interesting alternative to Carlos Tevez. “Carlitos” has been prolific since joining from Manchester City in the summer, scoring in all three official games.
Inter Milan will attempt to defend their ground and unbeaten record in a reviving fashion. Walter Mazzarri has abruptly transformed his side from the faltering Stramaccioni era, to a new, fiery and tough side. A slew of signings turned a dejected side, into top three contenders in Serie A. One of the more high profile signings the Nerazzurri made was bringing in former Barcelona starlet Mauro Icardi. The Argentinian striker was one of the most sought after prospects in Europe. He very well could make a lasting impact at this new Inter.
More good news for Inter is that Diego Milito will make his return to the squad after suffering a season-ending knee injury last campaign. Milito and Rodrigo Palacio can make a very dangerous attacking partnership, adding their young strikers Icardi and Ishak Belfodil to the mix can cause any team in Serie A problems.
Below are the Squads called up for the clash:
Goalkeepers: 1 Samir Handanovic, 12 Luca Castellazzi, 30 Juan Pablo Carrizo;
Defenders: 2 Jonathan, 5 Juan Jesus, 6 Marco Andreolli, 14 Hugo Campagnaro, 18 Wallace, 23 Andrea Ranocchia, 25 Walter Samuel, 31 Alvaro Pereira, 35 Rolando, 55 Yuto Nagatomo;

One thing is for certain, there will be twenty-two men giving everything they have got to bring home the three points. Juventus and Inter are both tied with six points apiece. Who do you pick to win?
