The Italo-Brazilian forward was overjoyed to be part of the Italian national team and start against Belgium.
Speaking to RAI after the 2-0 win over Belgium, Eder thanked coach Conte for his support.
“Football is a wonderful sport because it gives you such remarkable emotions, Antonio Conte has faith in me and during a rough time I was training at home by myself to be ready for France.”
“I don’t listen to the critics, I don’t want TV or read the papers. I only watch games on television. This evening we saw many things tested out in training that made an impact in the match. It was a wonderful victory, one for the whole group, but in four days we play again and therefore our minds must turn to Sweden.”
The Italians take on the Swedes on Friday in the second match of group play in Group E.
