England are set to face Italy in an international friendly later this month and the English Football Association announced that they will honour Italian International Davide Astori at Wembley.
The world of football is in mourning after Fiorentina Captain Davide Astori passed away in his sleep last night. Astori had been an Italian International since 2011 and appeared 14 times for the Azzurri, scoring one goal.
Astori was expected to be included in the Italy squad for the upcoming friendlies against Argentina and England at the end of March and the English FA shared their condolences with regards to Astori’s sudden death via their Twitter account this afternoon.
“All of us at the FA are truly saddened by the news of Davide Astori’s death. Our condolences are with his family and all who knew him.
