Gianni Infantino’s FIFA presidential campaign has received the backing of the Italian Football Federation.
According to fifaforward2016.com, FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio declared “FIGC will support Gianni Infantino in his bid to become FIFA president.”
The representatives of the 54 UEFA national associations expressed their approval of Infantino’s candidacy in a meeting held in Nyon. During this event, Europe’s crucial position for the development of world’s football was reiterated, making Infantino’s candidacy equally important in the restoration of FIFA’s credibility – the world’s most important footballing entity.
“FIFA need to rebuild, with young executives and a renewed enthusiasm,” Tavecchio went on to say. “UEFA have to take on the responsibility of this rebuilding. I know Infantino very well, he’s competent and reliable and I’m sure that he’s the right man to help FIFA establish this much-needed stability and independence.”
