Fiorentina are reportedly looking to sign a Genoa centre-half if their pursuit of Benfica’s Lisandro Lopez fails.
According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Fiorentina are monitoring the availability of Genoa’s centre- half, Sebastien De Maio, if they fail to persuade Benfica to release Lisandro Lopez.
The French central defender is reportedly interested in moving to the Stadio Artemio Franchi, however that will all depend on Fiorentina’s pursuit of Lopez. Over the last few weeks, Lopez has seen a return to the Benfica starting line-up as a result of injuries to other centre-halves, and it is that which is currently putting a spanner in the works of La Viola’s acquisition.
There is a chance however, that Genoa might try and use Giuseppe Rossi as part of any deal should Fiorentina pursue their interest in De Maio, although current reports suggest that Rossi might be remaining at the Franchi.
It is reported that Fiorentina are not alone in their pursuit of De Maio. Inter are also reportedly interested in signing the centre-half ,once Andrea Ranocchia leaves the Giuseppe Meazza, whilst Lazio’s previously reported interest is currently on the wane.
