The Uruguayan midfielder has had a great season so far for the Rossoblù and Ivan Juric’s squad might be forced to lose another one of their key components to top Serie A sides.
After losing both Rincon and Pavoletti to Juventus and Napoli respectively, Genoa fans will feel harshly done after hearing news of Roma going in for Diego Laxalt. After losing two vital components of their side, it seems Roma are about to take a third away.
According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia, Roma have officially begun their first contacts to make Laxalt a Roma player. Even though a January transfer could happen for the Uruguayan international, Di Marzio states it is more likely an operation that can come into fruition for June.
The transfer could come at a hefty cost however. As Genoa do not want to lose one of their star players to Serie A competition on the cheap. Therefore, the Laxalt-Roma transfer may have to likely be made in the summer where Roma will have more room for investment.
