After bowing out of the Coppa Italia in a tough 2-1 loss at Juventus Stadium, AC Milan have only the Serie A to worry about now, as their last 18 matches of the season lie ahead.
Starting the season off on a hot streak, Milanisti were thinking of a possible Champions League spot come May of 2017. Winning 10 of their first 15 matches of the season, it seemed that coach Vincenzo Montella could really make magic happen with no big money signings taking place in the summer. It’s clearly evident that Montella has implemented his brand of football into the squad, a ball possession, play from the back style of play.
However, since the domestic league is the only thing the Milanese giants have to worry about for the rest of the campaign, there are a few things that need to happen in order for the Rossoneri to return to European competition. At this point, Champions League is a long shot, with Europa League more in range.
