Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessié is off to a flying start with Atalanta and his performances have not gone unnoticed by top English clubs.
Having already been compared to Ivorian great Yaya Toure at the tender age of 19, Franck Kessie seems to be one of African football’s brightest young stars. It has been reported that there were scouts from abroad in attendance at Atalanta’s last Serie A match against Palermo. Despite the loss, Kessie’s performance did not go unnoticed.
The Daily Mirror has reported that Kessie’s play has heavily convinced scouts from the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea to make a move for nineteen year old.
Kessie spent last season on loan with Serie B side Cesena where he found the back of the net four times in 37 appearances. The young Ivorian is already off to a flying start with his parent club this season scoring with regularity despite it not even being October yet. It will be interesting to see if the Bergamo-based club manages to fend off major intrigue from Europe, and keep a key player like Kessie come January.
