Santos manager Dorival Junior has warned potential suitors that Gabigol may only leave in January.
In a recent interview, Dorival Junior, the current Santos boss, spoke about Gabigol’s future. The player is currently being courted by a number of European clubs including Inter, Leicester, Atletico Madrid and Juventus. The Brazilian told reporters:
“If a sale is to be made, we must follow what Palmeiras did with Gabriel Jesus to reduce the negative effects.”
In case you weren’t following the Gabriel Jesus saga, the player will only move to Manchester City in January after the Brazilian league comes to a close. In Gabigol’s case, on the other hand, both Leicester and Inter are the front runners. At the moment the Premier League side are making positive strides forward in hopes of closing a deal. Inter, by contrast, have already seen their 25 million euros bid accepted by Santos and are waiting for Gabigol to return from the Olympics. Once the games are over, the highly-rated striker will make a decision.
