Gian Piero Gasperini has called for focus from his Atalanta side ahead of their enticing encounter with Juventus in Turin on Saturday Night.

Atalanta go into the game against the Serie A Champions as the form side, not only in Serie A but across the top five leagues in Europe, undefeated in their last nine games which include eight wins and find themselves just five points off the top of Serie A in what has so far been a remarkable fairy tale season for the Bergamo side;

“We’re not getting ahead of ourselves, nor talking about the title race. If we weren’t in the form that we’re in then nobody would be giving us a chance tomorrow”.

Meanwhile Juve go into the game off the back of their shock 3-1 defeat away at Genoa and without the inspirational Leonardo Bonucci. Speaking at da Zingonia (the club’s training ground), Gasperini insisted that his side are not getting carried away;

“We’re on our toes, especially as we can expect a reaction from them after losing on Sunday and they will be fully focused on tomorrow’s match…We’re full of energy leading into this game, but we need to stay calm and play to our strengths, while keeping our feet firmly on the ground”.

Despite Gasperini’s caution going into the game, a win for Atalanta will certainly make it difficult for all concerned with La Dea to keep from talking up a title challenge.
