Genoa 2-0 Inter: The Nerazzurri Player Ratings

Another disappointing performance from Luciano Spalletti’s men as Inter fall 2-0 to a streaky Genoa side.

Here are the Inter player ratings following this evening’s match.

Samir Handanovic (5.0): A shaky performance from the Slovenian shot stopper. Couldn’t do much about either goal on the evening, but was almost beaten by a Pandev curler from midfield that grased the crossbar.

Joao Cancelo (7.0) MOTM: In a match where there weren’t many positives for his side, the former Valencia man showed his worth, making multiple defensive stops and getting forward down the right flank. Look for Cancelo to receive consistent minutes down the main stretch of the season.

Andrea Ranocchia (4.5): A really shambolic performance for the Inter captain on the day. Was often outpaced by a 34-year-old Goran Pandev and was credited for an own goal. A real rough evening for the former Italian international.

Milan Skriniar (5.5): A decent performance from one of Inter’s best players this season. Was unlucky to see his clearing attempt hit off Ranocchia which gave the home side the lead a minute before halftime.

Danilo D’Ambrosio (5.0): Never really had the chance to contribute much on the left side of the field and wasn’t as steady as he usually is at the right back position. Almost looked awkward at times trying to maneuver down the left flank.

Matias Vecino (5.0): The former Fiorentina man really failed to make an impact on the game and was invisible for most of his time on the pitch, ultimately leading to him being substituted early in the second half.

Roberto Gagliardini (5.5): While the young Italian battled hard in the midfield, he still lacks some vision and creativity. Needs to improve his technical skills if he wants to be a regular in the starting eleven.

Antonio Candreva (5.5): Although Candreva was often searching for goal with strikes from distance, he never really created any chances for his side. Just seemed like it wasn’t his day from the beginning.

Borja Valero (5.0): The Spaniard was often wasteful in possession and didn’t create much. He needs to be more of a playmaker in the Inter midfield.

Yann Karamoh (5.5): The young Frenchman was given a rare starting place in the absence of Ivan Perisic. While he showed some hustle and grit, he failed to make the same impact as last weekend when he stunned Bologna with a beautiful strike.

Eder (6.0): Once again filling in for the injured Mauro Icardi, Eder was all over the place pressing and looking to win aerial duels. While some may argue he didn’t provide much in attack, he was very starved for service. His work rate however is undeniable, and deserves recognition.

Rafinha (6.0): Looking to add a spark to the Inter midfield, the former Barcelona man did create some opportunities for his side in his time on the pitch.

Andrea Pinamonti (5.5): While he rarely touched the ball when he was on the pitch, it is hard to expect an 18-year-old who was only making his third Serie A appearance to help Inter back into the match.

Marcelo Brozovic (5.5): Coming on with about 15 minutes left in the match, the Croatian did what he could, but it seemed like too little too late for his side.
