There are rumors that Genoa CFC are in the process of making an offer to ex-Parma striker Antonio Cassano.
Cassano’s contract with Parma was mutually terminated yesterday, and the rumor mill has been set to full speed ever since with the outspoken striker’s future suddenly in doubt. Cassano himself has said that he is not interested in an immediate solution for its own sake, hinting that he may even hang up his boots, but a number of clubs are said to be interested in him, notably including his hometown club and former team Bari.
The Italian edition of Goal.com reported late on Tuesday that Genoa are believed to have contacted Cassano’s agent and proposed a contract of two and a half years.
The situation remains unclear, and Genoa are rumored to also be chasing Roma’s Marco Borriello to reinforce their attack. But it is becoming clear that Genoa’s transfer window is far from over, and major moves may me announced in the coming days.
